A new contribution to the rediscovery of the past, the result of a further commitment by our publishing house which, requested by scholars, aims to offer, alongside the reprints of ancient volumes by Sicilian authors, research and monographs which have the history of Sicily as their object.
This work offers a study of the action of the Counter-Reformation within the island society, and represents an opportunity to reread the history of our communities within the framework of the disciplinary action of a Church intent more on teaching than on fighting, more on guiding than to condemn. The volume is accompanied by reproductions of some silver from the monastery of Santa Lucia in Adrano.
