The volume is the catalog of the Venice exhibition (Galleria dell'Accademia, 25 June - 15 September 2002) and presents 870 drawings deposited at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice by Giovanni Carlo Bevilacqua (1775-1849), Venetian painter and decorator , a leading exponent of neoclassical poetics. The work documents his intense activity, between the fall of the Republic of Venice and the patriotic uprisings of Manin and Tommaseo, which led him to fresco the Procuratories of Piazza San Marco, Villa Pisani in Stra, the Imperial Stage of the Fenice, Palazzo royal palace in Venice and other important palaces in Venice, Padua, Treviso, Trieste.
