Note: A flamboyant collection of traditional Sardinian costumes depicted in nineteenth-century paintings and photographs, and a splendid series of jewels that adorned the island's beauties. The stories of an almost debutant Grazia Deledda, never published since 1913, and the amazed accounts of foreign travelers who more than a hundred years ago wandered through the mountains and valleys of Sardinia complete the picture.
This volume presents a gaudy collection of traditional Sardinian costumes documented in 19th-century paintings and photographs, and a splendid series of some of the jewels which adorned those island beauties. They are accompanied by short stories by Grazia Deledda together with the dazzled accounts of some of the foreign travelers who, for over one hundred years, have wandered through the islands, mountains and valleys.
