Fax-simile of the illuminated manuscript, created between 1455 and 1461 for Borso d'Este, Duke of Ferrara. The original work, considered one of the most important masterpieces of Italian Renaissance miniature, was created on parchment by a team of artists led by Taddeo Crivelli and Franco dei Russi, and is full of miniatures of extraordinary beauty and refinement, depicting biblical scenes, portraits of historical figures and allegories. The miniatures are embellished with a skillful use of gold and precious pigments, which give the work a sumptuous and regal appearance.
