Melo Freni was born in Sicily, in Barcelona, ​​in 1934. Having graduated in law, he has worked as a journalist since 1956. He lives in Rome and works at RAI, where he is head of the cultural editorial team of TG1. In literature he made his debut in 1996, presented by Leonardo Sciascia, with the collection of poems Il senso delle cose; he later published Morire a Palermo (poems), 1968; Sweet Promised Land (poems), 1974; The Hot Seasons (novel), 1975.
