The work represents an ideal journey among the well-known and lesser-known masterpieces of the twenty Italian regions, through photographic images of the highest quality and an anthology of songs dedicated to Italy by some of its most authoritative and famous visitors.
The work consists of: a presentation by the President Emeritus of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi; an introduction entitled The Country of Beauty 150 years after the Unification of Italy, by Louis Godart.
The printing of the texts, composed with round and italic Bembo characters, as well as the printing of the twenty brown images and the related captions, were carried out in Loreto, at Lamberto Pigini's printing house on 180 gram pure chiffon paper, embellished with the ''FMR'' watermark, hand-crafted and created specifically for this work by the Cartiere Magnani, in Pescia.
The photographic images were made with special inks at Lamberto Pigini's printing house on 170 gram matt coated paper, produced by Cartiere del Garda, in Riva del Garda.
The stitching, the binding with gold inscriptions on the spine with five bands, the gold impressions on the cover plate depicting friezes of the Italian typographical tradition and the allegory of Italy, taken from Cesare Ripa's Iconologia, in the 1603 edition , as well as the covering of the volume in fine blue barrel-dyed leather, were made at the L'Arte del Libro bookbinding shop in Todi.
Each example, which measures 31 x 43.5 x 6 cm in the closed format, is numbered and signed by Marilena Ferrari in correspondence with the descriptive colophon and is contained in an elegant box created to an exclusive project.
